| Company | Arts Communication 21’ is an institute for cultural content studies established by graduate students from Kookmin University. The AC21 aims to research and practice both academic activities and artistic performances by integrating various genres. | ||||||||
| Work | Chunhyang-<My Dear Love> conveys a uniquely Korean narrative that everyone can share and marvel at. Through dance and the traditional Korean vocal music of pansori, this production tells a story that both the West and the East can empathize with. The meeting of traditional Korean music and modern music adds to the lyrical delivery of sentiments and the dynamism of the dances, while broadening the scope of the dances and creating overall harmony in the ambience of the production. Chunhyang-<My Dear Love>brings imagination into reality. The symbolic imagery shown in the visual medium leads the audience into a fantastical realm of time and space, allowing them to assimilate with the characters portrayed. Moreover, the diverse graphic scenes maximize the emotions of the characters and add a sense of spectacle to the show. Chunhyang-<My Dear Love> is for everyone to enjoy. The participatory format allows the audience to take part in the production while enjoying the show, and deepens the emotional response to the show by providing the audience with the opportunity to directly and indirectly participate in this work of performance art. |
